Do you think, when God instructed the Israelites to "Keep Holy the Lord's Day", He was aware that someday there would be a Super Bowl game played that day? Did He consider that sports, vacations, picnics, hunting, recitals, yardwork, shopping and more would challenge giving that day its due?
Maybe He should have picked a different day. But He couldn't, the die was cast many centuries before in the sacred writings by the prophets, years before He sent His son. Then, Jesus died on a Friday, had to wait until the third day, according to the scriptures, to rise from the dead. Yep! He was stuck with Sunday.
What are we to do?
Do your best. Keep things in perspective as best you can.
