What struck me recently was a thought about how desk top computers at home and in the office were once controlled by a huge jumble of wires. If you had a computer with display screen, key board, mouse, speakers, printer, modem, and camera you had it all - - - and you had a lot of wires. So many wires that there was no where to hide them. All had to be connected to each other and finally to an electrical outlet. This was a real mess at times.
Now comes Bluetooth. Now comes WiFi. Now comes laptops. Where have all the wires gone. Most have gone to graveyards, every one. I don't miss them. It's all just a bad memory - except for those of us who still love the power of the desktop.
Some day, I suspect, that even our everyday electricity will come to us, to our homes and businesses, without wires. When that time comes, you can visit my grave and remind me that I predicted it. I actually think it's not all that for off - but too far off for me.
ps If you haven't answered the little quiz I laid out last Monday, do it now.
