MIDWEEK PRAYER

On the TV show American Idol, contestants normally sing covers of popular songs and the judges often advise them to make the songs their own.  You can do that with prayer, also.

The prayer that Jesus taught his followers to say, we call The Lord's Prayer.  More than a prayer, it is an outline of the proper way to converse with God

The prayer begins by praising God and agreeing to promote His work on Earth.  What follows is the line "Give us this day our daily bread".  You should realize that "daily bread" is a metaphor for "what we need to survive."  Of course, at any moment in time, we want more than that.

To make this prayer your own, this is a good place to add/insert your personal special intentions.  Remember that prayer is just you talking to God.  The Bible has taught us that He is most impressed by your diligence and persistence. So do it from the heart and do it often.  We need to pray enough so that we feel comfortable talking to God; so that we have a relationship with Him.  Use your own words.  Make your prayers your own.

God bless you and yours today!
