Something extraordinary has happened right in front of our eyes and we haven't noticed. Well, everyone has noticed but no one has gotten the reason.
When I was a kid (1950), the three big networks scheduled no news in the morning or afternoon. Two of the three had 15 minutes alloted in the 7:30 prime-time slot. That's it. No late nite. No all-night. No early morning. Did so little go on? You had to read the paper or listen to the radio to get the news.
If we could find a way to minimize the amount of news that networks could broadcast, (I know this would never work) we would all be better off. The big four and others try to make a 24 hours news broadcast the norm. It's crazy. No wonder we hear such divergent opinions. It has driven me away from the TV news business all together.
Concerning Monday's quiz, which was sports related, of course, but it should be of interest to many, here is what I have. The length of the regular season for major sports in America.
National Hockey League (NHL) 82 matches
National Basketball Association (NBA) 82 games
Major League Baseball (MLB) 162 games
Major League Soccer (MLS) 34 matches
National Football League (NFL) 17 games
Total 377 games/matches
Someone had the right answer - APL
