The Draconid Meteor Shower is heading toward Earth. It is made up of a broken comet. Pieces will bombard our atmosphere for three or four days but the peak should be visible in our area this evening, Thursday October 8. The top time to see a "shooting star" is about 9 pm EDT. Normaly this group of debris will produce about five to ten meteors per hour. What a great time to wish upon a shooting star. Hope for clear skys - dress for cool weather.
Your friendly astronomer.
