The ancient Romans decided that 10 days past the winter solstice we would mark another trip around the sun completed and a new one begun. This round trip we call a year. The Earth has made over two thousand of these trips since the arbitrary one marking the birth of Jesus Christ. I'm not sure how this one stacks up to the rest. Not much different, I suspect, unless you were run over by a tsunami or hurricane or earthquake or truck.

Our speed is one RPY (revolution per year) all the time spinning on our own axis at the speed of one RPD (revolution per day) or about 365 RPY. No wonder I'm a little confused. All this spinning is getting to me. It couldn't be all I drank last night, could it?
