I saw a strange headline the other day. It said, "Bush's Parents Didn't Pay their Rent." Can you believe it? George and Babs have really hit hard times since leaving the White House. :)

Oh yes, they all called her Babs back in her prep school days. Quite a "run around" at one time, that sweet old lady. She started at Smith College but dropped out and married George H.W. in 1945 when he was on leave during World War II. Eighteen months later the 43rd president of the United States was born. He was the first of her six children.

Barbara's mother, who was from Ohio, was killed in an auto accident when her father crashed into a wall. He had reached to stop a cup of coffee from spilling and lost control of their car. She was killed instantly. Its so important to concentrate all the time you are driving.
