MORTON'S

MORTON'S

My wife and I ate at Morton's last night. It was delicious though obscenely expensive. We had a wonderful evening. We were celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary.

Forty years ago yesterday (it was Friday the 17th), I flew in from Ft. Mead, Maryland in the late morning. I had to go to the county courthouse to get a marriage license, go to my doctor for a blood test, pick up a tuxedo, go to a rehearsal at church and back to my parents house for a party. Because I was in the service, everyone waived the normal waiting periods for the things I had to get done. I slept at home that night for the last time.
