There is something outstanding going on in Cincinnati this weekend. A made for TV high school football series is being played at UC's Nippert Stadium.

Colerain High School, number 25 in the USA Today weekly poll, is playing Cardinal O'Hara High School from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Unranked Elder High School is playing number 5 ranked De La Salle High School from Concord, California. Number 8 ranked Cincinnati St. Xavier is playing number 3 ranked Lakeland High School from Lakeland, Florida. Unranked Cincinnati Moeller High School is playing number 2 ranked Byrnes High School from Duncan South Carolina. In other parts of Ohio, Lakewood St Edward, number 14 in the poll and who St. Xavier beat badly last weekend, is playing Springdale High School from Springdale, Arkansas. Massillon Washington High School, who Moeller beat badly last weekend, is hosting number 11 Hamilton High School from Chandler, Arizona.

I guess this is neat. I don't know. I'll watch for sure but whatever happened to taking a bus from school to the game and playing your crosstown rival on a Friday night.
