WORLD SERIES

WORLD SERIES

Wow! Eight teams, four from each league make the playoffs to try to get into the world series. From that group, the team that didn't win their division in the American League got in and, in the National League, the team with the worst record of the group got in.

The Cardinals were lucky to beat out the Astros and the Reds. Now, they are World Series Champions.

This playoff system isn't really fair. Baseball has to give some kind of advantage to the teams that do better during the regular season. In pro football, they give the teams that did best during the season a bye during the playoffs. They take away home field advantage completely from the wild card teams. (Of course, home field means more in football than it does in baseball.) Its not that I think the wild card teams or teams with poorer records shouldn't win the World Series, its just that the road should be tougher. The Steelers proved last season that a wild card team can win it all even with playing an extra game and playing all games on the road. I'm not sure what baseball should do but their system needs to tweeked. And while they're at it, lets get the whole thing done before Winter sets in.
