BIG GAME SUNDAY
Does anyone else think it is hilarious that the NFL will not permit anyone to use the name Super Bowl in advertising their product or service. Copywrite laws are important. The name Super Bowl is a valuable asset to the NFL. But, Lord, give me a break. We carry things a little too far in this country. I suppose there is a flock of lawyers monitoring every TV and radio broadcast and print ad in the country to protect the NFL's rights. Flock is the correct term as it relates to vultures.
In January of 1982, the Bengals played the 49ers in the Pontiac Silver Dome in Super Bowl XVI. I tried to get tickets in the team's lottery based on our company's season tickets but missed out. I had them sold for $1000 a ticket.
Here's some real trivia. The Bengals have been in two Super Bowls and both times played the San Francisco 49ers. In 1982, the 49ers called 'tails' and won the coin toss and the ball. In 1989, the Bengals called 'heads' and lost the coin toss and the ball. If the Bengals are in the Super Bowl next year, what would you call?
