WHEN I WAS A KID
When I was a kid, I think there was more civic pride than there is today. I grew up in the town of Norwood, Ohio. Every year there was a "Norwood Day" celebrated by a parade down the main street in town. It seemed like everyone was there. I was even in the parade a few times. There was also a "Norwood Day" at Coney Island and a "Norwood Day" at Crosley Field for a Reds game. These were all big events when I was a kid. We really looked forward to them. It seemed like everyone participated. That doesn't happen as much today. Too bad.
