WASHINGTON DC
It is a beautiful time in our nations capital with all of the cherry blossom trees in the city and along the Potomac in bloom. Most of these trees, which are Japanese cherry trees, were donated to the US in 1912 by the Japanese chemist who discovered adrenaline. Dr. Takamine donated them in the name of the city of Tokyo. The deal was initiated by the first lady, Helen Taft. She and her husband were from Cincinnati.
