RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

MUSING

I was musing the other day while driving home from work.

"Is there a Maxi Cooper?"

"Would the country be better off if the speed limit on the interstate were 80 mph and they gave you a ticket everytime you went 81 mph. The way it is, everyone assumes you can go about 5 to 15 mph faster than the posted maximum speed limit, depending on where you are. Does this give some people the idea that if this law can be broken with impunity, other laws might also be broken?"

"What if we did away with maximum speed limits on the interstate system all together? How fast would people drive? Would it force more people to drive on the side roads? Would the crazy drivers soon kill themselves off? What would the insurance companies do?"

"Why does my speed-o-meter go up to 160 mph?"

"Maybe we should equip each car with a device that would blink a light when an emergency vehicle was nearby. They can sneak up on you if you have the windows up and heavy metal blasting in your ear."
