SCHOOL

Now starts another school year. Make it as pleasant and worthwhile as you possibly can...for all involved.

Here is a suggestion.

Sit down NOW with your student children and make a plan. Make a list of their subjects and ask them to project their grades for each term through the end of the year. Don't force anything on them but if they choose a low grade at least encourage them to improve throughout the year. (If they do choose a low grade, this is a great opportunity to make a plan to attack this problem) Put this projection on the fridge or a prominent bulletin board - somewhere it will be seen very often. (Keep a copy in case it gets lost during the year) It would be better to reward or praise students based on this projection rather than just an arbitrary grade. Planning and looking into the future is so important for everyone and its never too soon to get into this habit.
