CINCINNATI SPORTS LAST WEEK

On Wednesday night, Xavier played previously unbeaten Creighton at Cintas Center and won 79-66. Drew Lavender was outstanding, scoring 28 points (17 in the first half) and dishing out 10 assists. The Musketeers used a couple of big first half runs to build their lead over the Bluejays and then maintained it to the end.

Check this out - it is an advance notice of a book coming out next year.

On Saturday night, the Bearcats traveled to Normal, Illinois to play the Illinois State Redbirds. UC had a terrible first half, scoring only 18 points and fell behind by as many as 19 in the second half before mounting a furious comeback. The Cats ran out of time and energy and lost by a 62-52 score. No player scored more than 11 for Cincinnati and they lost because of very poor shooting.

In prep basketball this week, Fenwick lost; Hamilton and Wilmington won.

On Sunday afternoon, the Bengals hosted the St. Louis Rams at Paul Brown Stadium. The visitors had no quarterback who ever played in the NFL. As you would expect, even the Bengal's defense could take advantage of a situation like this. Palmer gave up another "pick-6" and looked mediocre overall. The locals finally got some rushing yards and won 19-10. Ho-Hum.

COMING UP! CROSSTOWN SHOOTOUT WEEK!
