CINCINNATI SPORTS LAST WEEK

The Reds went 2-4 this week. They are now 8-11 on the season and in fourth place in the division. As for starting pitching, Aaron and the two kids are doing good; Bronson is stinking up the place and Fogg is gone to the bull pen. Matt Belisle is being brought up to replace Fogg as a starter. As for the bull pen, the jury is still out. The offense is a mess! Patterson hasn't had a hit all week; Dunn and Hatteberg are still "on the interstate" (under .200) and no one is hitting in the clutch. The defense has been mostly good. The Reds have 11 errors this year, Edwin Encarnacion has six of them. The Dodgers, Astros and Giants are on the schedule this week. The Giant series is on the West coast.

The first recruit for new head coach Tom Crean of Indiana University is Bobby Capobianco, a junior at Loveland High School. Bobby is a 6'8" 230 lb power forward. IU beat out West Virginia and Iowa...UC didn't offer.

Scott Kerr is out as Mariemont boys basketball coach.

Evan Sizer scored a goal in his first ever outdoor soccer match and his team won 2-0.

Urban Meyer, head football coach at Florida, was a visitor to the UC spring practice this week. Meyer played for UC in the 1980's and talked to the team about how proud he is of their elevation to the upper levels of college football. UF finished up their spring practice early and coach Meyer has family in Cincinnati.

The UC basketball program got another recruit for 2008. He is 6'-8" 230 lb center Steven Toyloy, a junior college transfer from Miami-Dade College and a resident of West Palm Beach, Florida.

As for the Bengals, there's nothing new on the Ocho-Psycho front.
