CINCINNATI SPORTS LAST WEEK

The Reds started the week off with the final game of the series against the Florida Marlins. In the first inning, Ken Griffey Jr hit the 600th home run of his career. Edinson Volquez again proved himself the stopper on the staff as the Reds won 9-4. Back in Cincinnati, the Reds lost two of three to the Cards and two of three to the Red Sox. They finished the week with three wins and four losses. For the season, they are now 33 and 38, in last place in the division and 12-1/2 games behind the Cubs. Oh, Lordy!

The Bengals had mandatory workouts for all players this week. Chad was in the house. Willie was there. Chris Perry too part. TJ was knocking the rust off. Its hard to believe anything you hear about rookies at this time of year. DeDe Dorsey incurred a serious hamstring injury and may miss at least part of the regular season. Training camp opens in six weeks.

It looks like Xavier grad James Posey will be getting a second NBA Chmpionship ring with a second team.
