The Reds duplicated last weeks debacle by going 1-6. They got a win on Monday over Milwaukee then lost the rest of the week including four straight to the Houston Astros. The Reds are unofficially dead. Now its time to prepare for next year. Watch new names enter the line up in the next six weeks. In a first step to reconstruction, catcher David Ross was designated for assignment. That came as a shock to me. Jerry Hairston, who played great when he was healthy, was brought back after his hamstring injury. He's not ready to play. What are they thinking?
The Bengals finally signed first round pick Keith Rivers and he started practicing this week. Chinedum Ndukwe hurt his lower leg on Wednesday and will miss five or six weeks. The Bengals could have a good season if they could keep everyone healthy. Tonight they meed the Packers on Monday night football. Aaron Rodgers of Green Bay and Jordan Palmer of the Bengals will be the talk of the night, once they get past Brett Favre. The downer for me is all the guys sidelined with hamstring pulls and the like...the following will probably not play tonight: T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Rudi Johnson, Jeremi Johnson, Rashad Jenty, Herana-Daze Jones, and Johnathan Joseph.
