JOHNSON

In the late 1970's, there was a comedian named Bill Saluga who had a shtick in which he portrayed a character named Raymond J. Johnson Jr. The Johnson character never wanted to be called Johnson. Whenever he was called Mr. Johnson, he would spout something like this, "You can call me Ray; or you can call me Jay; or you can call me junior; or you can call me Raymond; or you can call me Ray J; but you doesn't hafta call me Johnson." This shtick got him onto several TV shows and he did some commercials with it, also.

I was thinking about him on Saturday when I was on the way to watch the Bengals practice at Georgetown College. Not only do the Bengals have Chad Johnson, Rudi Johnson and Jeremi Johnson, but they have Brandon Johnson, a linebacker out of Louisville and James Johnson, a running back out of Kansas State trying to make the team. I was aware of all this and then came the topper; the turn into Georgetown College is just past the Johnson Controls plant. Would you have expected anything else?
