RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

CINCINNATI SPORTS LAST WEEK

On Monday, the Bearcats played Arkansas-Pine Bluff and coasted to a 79-49 win. It was just a scrimmage and it was over almost as soon as it started. Cincinnati is now 10-2 for whatever that is worth. Now the fun begins.

On Tuesday, Xavier (now ranked 14th nationally) hosted Butler University and the Muskies were still dizzy from the punch Duke hit them with last Saturday. The young Bulldogs jumped out to an early lead and were able to take whatever the Musketeers threw at them and hold on for a 74-65 upset win. XU (9-2) hurt their own cause when coach Sean Miller got a technical foul with about three minutes to go.

The Bengals finished off their season on Sunday with a 16-6 win over Kansas City at PBS. Playing with guys I never heard of, they looked a lot better than the Chiefs. "Wait 'till next year!"
