On this date in 1924, astronomer Edwin Hubble announced that he had discovered other galaxies. Until this time, it was assumed that our Milky Way Galaxy encompassed the whole Universe. It is fitting that our first orbital telescope was named after this man. Whenever you hear his name, it should remind you that we don't always see the whole picture even though we think we do. Don't judge!
