In the early1930's, we were deep in recession and new President FDR attempted to solve the problem by spending money to prop up banks and on government work projects that put people to work. He thought it was a win-win situation. From 1933 when he began until 1941, there was very little improvement in the economy. Not until the coming of World War II did real economic growth resume.

In the late 1970's into the early 1980's, we were in recession again. New President Ronald Reagan attacked the problem by lowering taxes. He thought it was a win-win situation. Before he started his second term, the economy was again experiencing steady growth.

In late 2008 and early 2009, we were in recession again. New President BHO attacked the problem by spending money to prop up banks and on government work projects that put people to work. He thought it was a win-win situation.
