Yesterday, I helped my mother check back into the hospital. Her diagnosis is cellulitis - infection or inflammation of the skin. Her lower legs and one hand look bad. Its not life threatening and she's in no pain.
We were in a room in the emergency area for about five hours. She had blood drawn and x-rays taken during that time . . . mostly she slept. I sat and stood and paced and sat and stood and paced. I read all of the magazines they had. Get this! I learned that there is a neuron in the human brain called the economo neuron that evidently has something to do with humans being social creatures. Only mammals like whales and apes and elephants have similar neurons in their brains. They have found that without it a person couldn't get along with other people. I think I know some people who are missing it.
I got so bored I picked up Everyday with Rachael Ray. The only thing that caught my eye in that rag was a list of moderately priced good wines. I tore out the page and brought it home.
I looked all over for Senior Life but couldn't find it. I'm told the article to which I contributed is in the current issue.
