MARATHON

A marathon is a race named after a city in Ancient Greece. As the story goes, after a battle with the Persians won by the Greeks at the city of Marathon, a soldier named Phillippides was sent running to Athens (about 26.2 miles away) to tell of the victory. He fell exhausted on his arrival, yelled something like "We won!" and then died. This account could be a lot like the stories of the Greek gods...I don't know. In any case, here are a few definitions of the modern day marathon that I dug up.
Marathon...a long #%*$ing race
Marathon...crazy person's jaunt
Marathon...never ending torture
Marathon...oh, you get the picture

Good Luck, Stacey. I'm rooting and praying for you! GODSPEED!
