I made it to the park last Friday afternoon for a walk/jog around the lake. The weather was glorious.
The path is 2-1/2 mile asphalt track. In two places, it passes under Kemper Road via narrow tunnels about 50 foot long. Two people can pass each other easily but that's about it.
At the time I came to the second tunnel, I was jogging. As I entered the tunnel, I noticed there was a person going slowly near the other end. I came to a stop and slowed to a walk. This person was going the same direction as me. As I neared, I discovered the other person in the tunnel was an elderly lady. She walked with the help of a cane.
This point in the path is about 1-1/4 miles from the entrance. I was amazed. Each step she took revealed a right foot that curved inward. She was almost walking on the side of her stiff shoe. We exited the tunnel side by side. I asked her how she was doing and she beamed, "Just fine." I'd say she was.
Don't ever say "Can't".
