The Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. was dedicated on this date in 1982. The memorial includes a granite wall that is 246 feet long and 8 to 10 feet high. It contains the names of 58,261 men and women who were killed or are still missing in action from that war.
I could never visit that memorial and in fact I cry when I think about it.
