The Bearcat basketball team had a week off to lick their wounds before playing UConn on Saturday. Xavier took the week off to prepare for Florida.
The UC football team revealed their 2010 schedule. The headline game is an early season contest with Oklahoma at Paul Brown Stadium. They open at Fresno State and in the third week go to NC State. The season finale is again with Pittsburgh - this time at Nippert Stadium.
The Bengals stuck their neck out again. They signed Matt Jones, a wide receiver who was with the Jaguars last year and was well known to local police.
Cincinnati went to Providence to play the once mighty Huskies of UConn. Even the return of Hall of Fame coach Jim Calhoun couldn't help their Big East foe as the Bearcats pulled away to an easy 60-48 win.
Xavier went to Gainesville to play the once mighty Gators of Florida. The Musketeers pulled away from their SEC foe midway through the second half for a convincing 76-64 win. The XU big men couldn't be handled as Jason Love and Kenny Frease combined for 32 points.
There may be over a foot of snow on the ground here with drifts and piles of snow over three feet deep but it makes me warm to know that Reds pitchers and catchers must report to Goodyear, AZ on Wednesday for the start of Spring Training.
