Did you know that we, in the U.S., are collectively charged about $3 million per year for electricity drawn by electronics that are turned off? When I was a kid, off meant off. Today, everything stays on unless you unplug it. Your 'turned-off ' TV, stereo, radio, etc draws a small amount of current. All this so that we save the warm up time.
