CINCINNATI SPORTS LAST WEEK

The Bengals were back in the news with wide receiver Maurice Purify being arrested for disorderly conduct at J-Hall. They followed that up with news that they were negotiating with bad boy DB Adam "Pac Man" Jones. Will it ever end? Maybe we could trade Carson for Ben.

The Reds had a three game series with the Mets to start the week. They won two of three against the Eastern Division leaders. Both wins were the result of extra inning walk-off home runs. Coco Cordero took the loss and blew a save in another game. The Reds can't win without their relief ace doing his job.

The Cyclones breezed to the finals of the American Conference of the ECHL but were drubbed three in a row and trail the Reading Royals 3-1 in the best of seven. They sell beer for $1 at the conference finals.

The Cubs came back to town for a weekend series. The Reds got pummelled in the opener but fought back to win the next two. Mike Leake went to 3-0 on a homer by Joey Votto. Cincinnati finished the week 4-2 and are now 16-15 on the season...in second place in their division.

:o)
