CINCINNATI SPORTS LAST WEEK

The Reds had four players in the annual Major League All-Star game played on Tuesday in Anaheim. Scot Rolen got a hit and scored the first National League run in the win. That win means if the Reds get into the World Series, they will have home field advantage.

Chad Ochocinco's newest foray into the media is a dating show on VH1. After the opening scene where he catches footballs with one hand without looking, it all went downhill.

Mick Cronin added some recruiting experience to his coaching staff with the addition of Daren Savino. Sarvino has roots in the New York - New Jersey recruiting area.

The Reds were finally back in town and ready to resume play against the Colorado Rockies on Friday night. Bronson Arroyo had another good start and the home team won in front of M C Hammer and my grandchildren. On Saturday, Edinson Volquez was back from rehabilitation after his August '09 Tommy John surgery. He struck out nine in six innings for the 8-1 win. On Sunday, hardluck Travis Wood again ran into hard luck. He held the Rockies to three hits and only one run through the six innings he pitched and the Reds lost 1-0 just like the last time he pitched.
