We've hit a real dry spell this week in the sports year. MLB is into the league championship series and, of course, the Reds are not involved. The NFL is in week seven but this is the Bengals' bye week. NCAA basketball can't start practice until midnight on Friday. Here's what we have.
On Friday night, the UC Bearcats met the Louisville Cardinals at Papa John Stadium in the Big East opener for both teams. In a bruising battle before a national audience, Cincinnati came from 10-points down to prevail 35-27. Zach Collaros threw five touchdown passes and Isaiah Pead ran for 145 yards to lead the offense. The defense held the Cards to three second-half points. Armon Binns had eight receptions including three for scores. DJ Woods had the other two TD catches but may have incurred a concussion on the last one. Next up - South Florida at Nippert next Friday.
Friday night lights.
