Did you know that the first woman in space was named Valentina Tereshkova? (No, she wasn't Irish.) In June of 1963, she piloted Vostok 6 into orbit. The Ruskies were ahead of us at that point. I don't remember that. Maybe, because that was the month and year I graduated from high school and my mind was on more important things.
My guess was Alice Cramden. Ralph said many times while I was growing up, "One of these days, Alice. "Pow!" Right in the kisser. One of these days, Alice, straight to the moon." If you don't know what I'm talking about, you're just way too young.
