DEBT CRISIS

If you think our country's debt crisis is over, you missed the point of the exercise we have been going through.  We are no less in debt today than we were yesterday, if fact, we are more in debt.  Every day we go more in debt.  All that we have done is increase the amount of debt that is allowed.  Not only is the debt crisis not over, it is worse.

The Republicans in the House of Representatives forced the government to agree to some cost saving and spending reductions in exchange for increasing the debt limit.  If the Democrats still had the majority in the House, the debt ceiling would have been increased weeks ago.  The Republicans created the mess we have been in for the last two months . . . thank God they did.  The progress we've made in reducing spending is minor but at least we're going in the right direction . . . at least the problem is visible to the citizenry.  Hopefully, they understand it.
