SPACE JUNK

Have you heard about the piece of space junk that is coming to Earth sometime in the next week.  It started as a six ton (12,000 lb) satellite. By the time it reaches the ground, it will be somewhat lighter and in many pieces.  NASA, who sent the bugger up about twenty years ago, has no idea where it will hit.  More recent satellites have been equipped with a homing device that causes them to land harmlessly in an uninhabited location.

Anyway, they say the chances of it hitting a person is only 1 in 3,200.  The chances of it hitting YOU are astronomical (is that a pun?).  In any case, try not to worry about it.  I was thinking about it yesterday when I was going to Home Depot.  I got out of the car, looked up at the sky and walked into a lamp post.  Ouch!

:-)
