Yesterday was construction day. The new windows were put in and the family room exterior wall was rebuilt to accept a window. That part of the house is still a construction zone. The inside of the family room wall will be put in today and the exterior work will be completed on Monday.
One interesting thing happened. I was home to get everyone started then, about 10am, I went to the office. I wasn't going to, but at the last minute, I decided to drive home at lunch to see what progress had been made. The window workers were at lunch and the family room crew had just finished and were leaving. It looked good from the outside but inside I found that the window had be framed into the wrong spot. They had centered it on the old doors instead of on the room as I had instructed. I called the contractor and got those guys back to make the change before the window was installed.
It wont look completed from the outside until I have a chance to do some landscaping but I think it will look good and we're going to really like the change.
