I attended my first high school football game of the season Thursday night. It was awesome. As part of the Skyline Crosstown Shootout, Fenwick topped Wyoming 47-46 in overtime at Sycamore High School Stadium. Fenwick scored first in the OT and added the extra point. Wyoming struggled but managed to score on fourth and goal from the two with a fade into the corner of the end zone. They decided to go for two and end the game one way or the other. The threw the fade to the other corner of the end zone and Fenwick intercepted.
Overall, the play may have been a little raggedy, which is normal for a first game of the season, but it had everything you could want to see. Prep football is just great fun. I hope to see a lot of it this year.
