NATIONAL DEBT

Have you been paying attention to the National Debt clock in the upper corner of my blog?  Its moving inexorably toward $16,000,000,000.00.  It wont be long now.  Our country continues to spend more money than it has.  The government must collect more money and/or spend less.  It can collect more by increasing taxes and/or by creating an environment so that businesses will prosper and employment will maximize. 

People usually make a big deal out of the National Debt when it reaches a milestone like the one that is approaching and then forget it again.  The coming election will determine which road we take and what happens to our debt in the future.
