SWEAT - EQUITY

Perspiration is commonly called sweat.  Its a normal body function used to keep us from getting overheated.  In addition to heat, work can cause us to get overheated.  We sweat when we work.

Equity (monetary) is the value of something that remains after the current and future costs are deducted.  The current equity you have in your home is its value less whatever you still owe on it.

Sweat Equity is a wonderful thing you can create by doing something yourself instead of having someone else do it.  The value of a home improvement adds equity to your home if its value is greater than the cost.  If you do the home improvement yourself, you have created sweat equity.  Not only that, you have gained a sense of pride and accomplishment . . . unless you're a klutz and you have to hire someone to correct your poor workmanship.  Be sure you can do what you dream you can do.
