SANTA CLAUS

I think its time to take a step back and consider our obsession with this figure we call Santa Claus.  Why are we promoting this man to our youngest children?  Not only is he plump, he smokes a pipe.  What kind of example is this?  He's jolly; he brings us gifts; he is an obese chain smoker; he breaks into people's houses.  No wonder we have problems in this country.

Why in the world would parents want their children to think the gifts they bought and struggled paying for came from Santa Claus and not them?  I can think of no reason except that they want to avoid talking about the birth of Jesus.  How sad.
