RANDOM MUSINGS FROM THE TOP OF THE HILL

SOFTBALL

Last night, we had the semi's and finals of our softball league tournament.  Our team won the regular season.  For that, we got a first round bye in the tourney that started last week.

In the first game, we won run-ruled a team 10-0 in five innings.  I only got one bat and grounded out weakly.   That set up the finals between us and Dan Brinkman's young Frank's Glass team.  What a game.  We went down 2-0 in the first and then tied it in our half of the inning.  Frank's went ahead 4-2 and then 6-4 going into the sixth.  We scored four in the bottom of that inning making it 8-6 us.  They scored two in the top of the seventh to tie it.  With two outs in the bottom of the inning, we pushed across the winning run.

I had a big hit and scored one of the runs in the sixth.  I've won a lot of championships and it never gets old.  We had great fun.  Beer and pizza followed at our sponsor's place, Campioni's.

I may have to play again next year!
