In Catholic Churches this Sunday, the family is honored. (I don't think I need to say "traditional family.") If there is anything that is absolutely necessary to maintain for the good of our country, it is the family.
Here are some excerpts from the readings that hit home.
My child, support your father in his old age, do not grieve him during his life. Even if his mind should fail, show him sympathy, do not despise him in your health and strength.
--Sirach 3: 12-13
Children, be obedient to your parents always because that is what will please the Lord. Parents, do not irritate your children or they will lose heart.
--Colossians 3: 20-21
(No, I did not make up these lines.)
