THE LORD'S DAY

This is the third Sunday after the Christmas season - Ordinary Time, it is called.  Today we get a description of the beginnings of Jesus' public life.  He preaches in all the local synagogues and collects his first four Apostles - all of whom were fishermen.

The first two apostles were Peter and his brother Andrew.  The second two were James and his brother John - the sons of Zebedee.  Those two left their father on his boat to follow Jesus.  Old man Zebedee evidently said it was okay.

Fathers (and mothers) let your sons (and daughters) go when it is time.  Its okay.  They will find their way.
