This is similar to when I stopped smoking almost eight years ago. I didn't want to talk about it this soon for fear of jinxing myself. I think I may have turned the corner on overeating. This is day six of the conversion. Hopefully, February 22 will be as important a date for me as August 20.
Don't expect anything radical. My goals are simple: to be able to see my feet while standing; to be able to clip my toenails more comfortably; to be able to play softball again for one more year without embarrassment. I just don't want to be the shape I see in the mirror.
As a boost to my ego, I'll relate a story from Tuesday past. At my volunteer job, several people looked at me askance when I said I was fifty years older than the stout young partner with whom I was loading heavy cartons on skids in the warehouse. They guessed I was about 55. Face! It turned out I was right - I'll be 69 before he is 19.
All encouragement will be appreciated.
