That walking trick sounds comical now but there's good reason for it as far as I'm concerned. I love to see ladies with great posture; heads held high, shoulders back, chin up, the look of self-confidence. Give me that and a grin that breaks into a big smile revealing some pearly whites...that's all I need.

Finishing schools were once a popular thing with the upper class. Debutantes had to be taught proper etiquette and more. They were often depicted in film with scenes that showed young ladies at the dinner table or walking across a room with a book balanced atop their heads.
That walking trick sounds comical now but there's good reason for it as far as I'm concerned.
