On this day, we look at Matthew's gospel (16:13-19) describing a dialogue between Jesus and Peter. It is here that we find the basis for Peter being the head of his church. It is here that Jesus gave Peter the power to impose worldly rules on His church.
Let us pray that we are faithfully following Peter's legacy.
