SOFTBALL

Last night was a beautiful night for a softball game.  Sadly, it started off with a bad omen.  They handed out the league standings which showed us in first place.  We should never have looked at that paper.

The second bad omen happened moments later.  My beautiful bride showed up to root me on - first time in years.

We didn't play poorly by most standards but by ours we did.  We lost 13-11.  I caught three scoreless innings.  We got behind and just couldn't get over the hump.  I had a single, a walk with the bases loaded and a weak pop out to the catcher.  I can't ever remember doing that before.

Afterwards, the Schuh clan picked on Kyle unmercifully as we drank beer into the darkness.  Only a few of us went for our usual pizza.  Next week the regular season ends.
