FACTS

Does everyone remember Marge Schott?  She was the CEO, majority owner and managing partner of the Cincinnati Reds from 1984 through 1999.  She was forced to sell the team at that time.



Mrs Schott was famous for the latitude she gave her beloved St. Bernard dog in the offices and on the grounds of Riverfront Stadium.  She was also a lightening rod for controversy and found herself in hot water with the league and the press more than once.  She made comments that were considered inappropriate concerning blacks, gays, and Adolf Hitler.  (If you think this sounds a lot like the Donald Sterling mess in Los Angeles, you're right)  The lady was a big fan of alcoholic beverages.

Marge was skewered most deeply when she said about Adolf Hitler, "everyone knows he was good in the beginning, but he went too far."  When this story hit the paper, this German American lady was photographed with German military artifacts hanging on her walls in the background.

To this, I would like to provide the following facts.

In 1938, Adolph Hitler was Time magazine's "Man of the Year".  In 1939, Hitler was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
