We only had one car while Dad worked there (my parents always only had one car). When mom and I needed a car, I would drive to work with him to bring the car home. Sometimes I would drive him to a bar in Northside where he met a co-worker who drove him the rest of the way. Of course, I would have to pick him up in the evening.
Dad continued to bowl with the new company. We'd drive to Heid's Lanes on Cheviot Avenue on Friday nights for this group. I just hung out at the lanes while he bowled. I loved listening to high school football and basketball games on the car radio during these trips.
In a few years, Aluminum Industries was bought out by Perfect Circle Corp. Dad stayed on for a while but things were not the same. Not sure of the problem, but he was out of work for a short while in the sixties. He got a job through an agency where he did some kind of strenuous manual labor in the down town west end area. He didn't stay there long. He hated it.
Finally, he got on at Clopay Corporation and worked there until he retired.
