SPRING BREAK

Spring Break - what a great idea.  R&R - what a great idea.  Vacation - what a great idea.  I never really got to take part in any of those.

In my day, spring break was two days before Easter and one after.  When I was a kid, no one did anything special at this time.  When I was older, I couldn't afford it.

R&R (rest and relaxation) was the military equivalent of vacation for those in a combat zone.  I never felt like I could spend the money to take advantage of that.

Vacations, the type where you went away, were rare when I grew up and rare when I was raising a family.

It's all foreign to me.  I can't relate.
